A coronavirus test done during the incubation period can show the presence of infection
- PCR test (polymerase chain reaction). A swab from the throat is taken for analysis. This method detects infection from the first days of the incubation period.
- Rapid tests for the presence of antibodies. They are formed only on the 5th-6th day of the disease.
- Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. It is used to determine how much time has passed after infection, and to detect the number and activity of immune cells. Initially, m Immunoglobulins appear, and at a later stage, g Immunoglobulins appear.
If there is a high risk of infection and possible contact with the patient, it is recommended to do the test several times. Because there are errors in sampling, false positive or false negative results.
